Eco Incentives Designs Environment Agency Awards
Green business promotions specialist Eco Incentives has helped the Environment Agency create new, eco friendly accolades for a national water efficiency awards.
Winners of the nationwide Water Efficiency Awards 2007, organized by the Environment Agency to recognise businesses across the UK that have made a significant contribution to saving water, were for the first time given awards that themselves were environmentally friendly, thanks to Eco Incentives.
Environment Agency Events Officer Mandy Helm said the search for green awards to reflect the nature of the competition had been a difficult one until she contacted Eco Incentives.
“Given that these nationwide awards are all about protecting and conserving a Natural resource we were keen to provide the winners with an accolade which in itself was eco friendly as it is important that we practice what we preach.
“It was however proving more difficult than we had anticipated until we spoke to Eco Incentives who were able to have the awards tailor made for us using a range of recycled and ethically sourced materials,” said Mandy.
Given the challenge of creating the awards, Eco Incentives organised their design and manufacture, using items such as sustainable wood from Heligan Gardens and recycled, cut off acrylic.
“Whilst we normally provide a range of existing environmentally friendly products we do like a challenge. We were delighted with the finals awards which looked fantastic – certainly more eye catching than most traditional awards,” said Eco Incentives Director Miles Lovegrove.
“To be able to use materials from sustainable sources such as wood from Heligan Gardens in Cornwall was even more pleasing,” added Miles.
The awards were handed to category winners by Secretary of State for the Environment Ian Pearson at the recent awards dinner in London.
